The Financial Controller will play a key role in collaborating with the Finance Lead to scale our finance department and enhance processes to align with Studocu’s ambitious expansion roadmap. As a pivotal member of the team, you will be instrumental in driving financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making during this exciting growth phase. You’ll be collaborating with various teams, focusing on cost-control and optimisation.

What you’ll be doing here

  • Financial Accounting & Reporting;

    • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts

    • Ensure day-to-day financial transactions are accurately recorded

    • Prepare and update monthly balance sheet reconciliations

  • Budgeting and Forecasting;

    • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts by gathering data and updating financial models

    • Monitor actual expenses against the budget and flag discrepancies

  • Tax and Regulatory Compliance Support;

    • Prepare supporting documentation for VAT, US sales taxes, and other regulatory filings

    • Help with collecting data and liaising with external auditors or tax authorities

  • Internal Controls & Process Improvements;

    • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls

    • Implement process improvements to make financial operations more efficient

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;

  • Relevant professional qualification or studying towards. (CIMA, CPA, etc);

  • 2+ years of working experience in financial accounting and controlling, or related roles, preferably in the tech industry;

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles;

  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero is a plus) and advanced skills in Excel is a must.
