About this opportunity:

At Studocu, our mobile apps are a critical part of how millions of students discover, share, and study with course materials every day. As our platform grows, mobile has become a central hub for product innovation, discovery, and monetization. We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will take ownership of the entire mobile platform - ensuring it remains fast, scalable, reliable, and easy for product teams to build on.

In this role, you’ll lead the team responsible for our iOS and Android applications, shaping both the technical direction and the way mobile development happens across the company. You’ll work closely with product, design, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact features while continuously improving the stability, performance, and developer experience of the mobile platform.

As our Engineering Manager, you’ll manage and mentor a cross-functional team while staying close to the technology, helping identify technical gaps, fixing broken processes, and ensuring that mobile remains one of the fastest and most effective ways we ship value to students.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

• Own and evolve the entire mobile platform (iOS & Android), ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across millions of users

• Lead and support a cross-functional mobile team (frontend and backend engineers), driving technical direction, delivery, and team development

• Collaborate closely with Product & Design to plan, prioritise, and deliver new mobile features and improvements

• Improve mobile CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, release processes, and distribution workflows

• Enable other product teams to contribute safely and efficiently to the mobile platform without creating bottlenecks

• Drive improvements in mobile app performance, stability, and accessibility across a wide range of devices

• Strengthen bug tracking, debugging, and issue resolution workflows to ensure a high-quality user experience

• Identify and resolve technical debt, broken processes, and platform gaps that slow down development

• Partner with internal teams (AI teams, operations, marketing, and other engineering groups) to support new product initiatives on mobile

• Help the team maintain its high delivery speed while improving planning, predictability, and product stability

What you’ll bring to the team:

• 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, specifically with mobile apps

• Experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech / Team Lead

• Exposure to - and enthusiasm for - cross-platform mobile app development

• Deep expertise in React Native (Expo) and TypeScript is a must-have

• Experience owning mobile CI/CD, testing, and App Store / Google Play releases

• Skills in mobile debugging and performance optimisation across multiple devices

• Understanding of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) concepts

• A strong product-minded engineering approach; a builder mentality with strong leadership instincts

• Experience enabling cross-team contributions to shared platforms

• An AI-native mindset, leveraging modern development tools

• Comfortable working in a fast-moving scale-up environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
