Senior Operations Manager - High Schools segment

Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, NetherlandsBusiness & Operations

Job description

Studocu was founded on the principle that equal access to study notes reduces inequality between students. Today, we make it easy for more than 45+ million students to share notes every month. The product was a rocket ship from day one and has shown strong product-market fit on every continent, making us a key player in the exploding EdTech space. We received a $50 million Series B investment so we’re in rapid growth and scale mode, and we need serious talent to help us make it happen.

The key to Studocu’s rapid growth is the viral loop at the center of the product: the more study materials students add, the more students we attract; the more students we attract, the more study materials they add, etc. Over the years, we realized how natural it is to start helping secondary school students as well. Given our bias for action, we recently launched a MVP to test product market fit, and the result ended up way beyond our expectations - already 1.5m of high schoolers use the product, everywhere in the world, and this number is exploding!

We’re looking for the business and operations leader who is going to help push the high school content offering to the next level. As the newly onboarded Senior Operations Manager, reporting in the Head of Content Operations, you will help to introduce our concept at tens of thousands of schools across the globe, strengthen our growth playbook, and steer the strategies to make us Studocu the brand that every secondary school student in the world love.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead Studocu’s High School department, together with your Product peer;

  • Set the business and operational strategy for the high school segment, define goals and report on performance to the rest of the company;

  • Own StuDocu’s High School P&L and investments;

  • Build a strong and healthy culture of operational excellence, velocity and cost efficiency;

  • Work with the Growth Team to determine priorities for content acquisition;

  • Work with the Marketing Team to implement and report on content acquisition campaigns;

  • Work with a Product Team to define product strategies, both facilitating the short term execution and helping reach the long term vision;

  • Constantly improve our processes for newly acquired content;

  • Scale and automate all processes to ensure we’re well prepared for the next stages of growth ( million pieces of new content per year).

Why you'll love it here:

  • You will have a key role within a talented cross-functional team (Operations, Growth/Marketing, Product, Tech, Design and UX) in a growing company that helps tens of millions of students worldwide (and soon, many more high school students!) to excel at their studies;

  • You will have autonomy to test and experiment;

  • You will learn every day, working alongside talented, ambitious and international people from many other disciplines;

  • You get to make a real impact on the education of millions of students across the globe. Studocu is already an industry leader in the EdTech space, and growing 3x every year!

Job requirements

  • B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Statistics or similar field. A relevant M.Sc. (statistics, business, engineering, etc) is a plus;

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, with demonstrable experience working with Tech and Product at tech, user-focused companies (previous experience in ed-tech startups is a big plus);

  • You embody the entrepreneurial mindset: you show a very hands-on approach, you move fast and in an autonomous and resolute way, you are capable of building things from scratch, and most importantly: you never give up!

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in fast-changing conditions. You are used to working within cross-functional and diverse teams in a digital, fluid environment;

  • You’re a strategic, analytical thinker, and you can easily design, analyze and optimize operational processes in an agile and smart way.

  • Advanced SQL, and Excel proficiency are required, and familiarity with other data tools, such as Mixpanel or Tableau, is a plus;

  • You are organized, very attentive to detail and independent while being a team player;

  • Knowledge and interest in digital marketing techniques (in particular Performance marketing) is a big plus;

  • Previous Product exposure in a similar B2C company is a big plus;

  • A good understanding of techniques such as A/B testing or statistical analysis is a plus;

  • Experience with User Research is a plus.
