Operations Manager - New Opportunities

Netherlands, Noord-Holland, AmsterdamBusiness & Operations

Job description

StuDocu was founded on the principle that equal access to study notes reduces inequality between students. Today, we make it easy for 17 million students to share notes. The product was a rocket ship from day one, and has shown strong product-market fit on every continent, making us a key player in the exploding EdTech space. We just received a $50 million series B investment so we’re in rapid growth and scale mode, and we need serious talent to help us make it happen.

Having proven a very strong product-market fit with our core product we’ve begun working on totally new, complementary products with a dedicated cross-functional team of designers, developers, operations analysts and data scientists. Currently, this team is responsible for our ‘Q&A’ product, where students can ask their study-related questions and receive homework help from expert tutors. With your new colleagues you will be working to bring this new feature to life and help us stand out in an area where we see multiple successful competitors.

We need an autonomous operations manager, with a keen business sense, strong analytical skills and a proven track record building and scaling new business models, to take ours to the next level. You’ll be responsible for some of the main OKRs of this new operation, reporting to the Head of Ops. With your team, you’ll crunch data and conduct qualitative research to find the main business problems, test and validate new growth levers and help scale the feature to users across the world.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Autonomously track and report the main performance indicators such as: volume of questions, quality of the answers, time to answer and operational capacity.

  • Follow the conversion of different cohorts and plan improvements to the user journey, together with designers and product managers.

  • Plan and execute tests to validate how this feature can be a growth lever for new countries and universities.

  • Be agile. Fail fast, learn fast and scale fast!

  • Create and manage a communication plan, building awareness and engagement with our users.

  • Deal with our external partners to ensure we have enough capacity to answer all the user questions with quality.

  • Build and manage operational processes so we can keep solving our business problems in a scalable way.

  • Follow closely our main costs, and help implementing a monetization strategy to improve our profitability.

  • Help to define how the expert Q&A feature will integrate with our other value propositions, potentializing our growth flywheel and building new strategic levers.

Why you'll love it here:

  • Involved in building one of our biggest and most exciting bets for the future of StuDocu

  • Working with smart people from many other disciplines: design, content, marketing, operations, branding, data analysis, data science, product management/development.

  • Well-rounded job, you wear many hats (marketing, product).

  • Team of data scientists and operations specialists to help with labour-intensive tasks.

  • You get to make a real impact on the education of millions of students across the globe.

Job requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Operations, Growth, Product Management, Consulting, or related fields.

  • Strong analytical skills (advanced SQL is a big plus) and ability to make business decisions based on data.

  • Team-player with strong peer-influence skills able to be a credible voice towards all areas of our business.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing environments.

  • Good prioritization skills and business sense, identifying the most important issues to tackle at any given time.

  • Creative and rational approach to problem-solving, but goal-oriented with a bias for action.

  • Strong verbal and written communication (in English), with a knack for synthesising complex information into clear and concise insights.

  • Bonus points: experience in startup/growth environments; experience in a cross-functional role; experience with website analytics tools (Mixpanel/Amplitude) and SEO.
